FamilyFuel is a web-based, AI-powered meal planning assistant built for busy families — especially those with young athletes — who want nutritious, budget-friendly meals without the stress. It generates personalized weekly meal plans, smart grocery lists, and recipes tailored to dietary needs, budgets, and schedules. FamilyFuel is currently in waitlist / pre-launch, with a marketing landing page live at FamilyFuel.ai.

Challenge / Problem
Families face time pressure and decision fatigue when it comes to planning, shopping, and prepping meals. Existing apps are often generic and don’t meet athlete nutrition goals, budget constraints, appliance limitations, or allergy requirements. Poor planning leads to more eating out, food waste, and inconsistent nutrition. Families want a solution that’s personalized, frictionless, and works across devices and shopping platforms.

What We Did
Through discovery interviews, we defined core user segments — busy parents and families with young athletes — and mapped their pain points. We then built a prototype with features including:
• Personalized weekly plans for all meals and snacks, tuned to allergies, nutrition goals, and cooking preferences.
• Smart grocery list generation with one-click ordering from preferred stores.
• Budget-aware planning, store-matched carts, and storage guidance.
• Pricing tiers (“Basic” and “Pro”) with advanced features like enhanced macros and optimization tools.
A marketing landing page was launched to validate demand and build the waitlist.

Impact / Insights (Pre-Launch)
• Early feedback suggests families expect to save significant time weekly by planning once and pushing carts directly to stores.
• Users anticipate cost savings through budget-aware planning and reduced food waste.
• A key differentiator is combining athlete nutrition, budget, and dietary constraints in a single system.
Anticipated metrics include conversion from waitlist to paid, retention via personalization, and reduction in fast food reliance.
